Hey folks (For English see below)
Bald bin ich unterwegs nach draussen um das bezaubernde Wetter bei einem Lauf durch den Park zu geniessen. Tut mir leid, ich sollte das mit dem Sonnenschein und den Temperaturen nicht mehr so oft erwaehnen, ich weiss wie es ist, selber in der Suppe zu hocken. Ging mir auch genuegend lange so. Aber ich konnte es aendern und geniesse es jetzt auch entsprechend. Sende euch dafuer viele Sonnenstrahlen.

Ansonsten heute nicht viel Neues, die Erlebnisse von gestern dann morgen, denn ich habe meiner Ma versprochen, noch die beiden Englischen Beitraege fuer sie zu uebersetzen. Sie ist zwar schon richtig gut drin mit Englisch lernen, aber wir wissen ja auch wie es sein kann… richtig hart.
Okay, ich freu mich schon darauf, den Beitrag ueber gestern zu schreiben, wir haben naemlich sooooo viel gelacht!!

Soon I’m off to the great outdoors to celebrate the lovely weather with a run in the park. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t mention the sunshine and temperatures so often I know first hand how it is to sit in the fog soup. Experienced it long enough myself. But I was able to change it and am appreciating it accordingly. Sending you lots of sun rays in return.Nothing much new otherwise, yesterday’s adventures are to follow tomorrow for I promised my mum to translate the two English blog posts for them. Even though she is pretty good at English, we still know how it is sometimes… it can be hard.

Okay, I’m looking forward to contributing yesterday’s events for we laughed sooooo much!!

IMPORTANT: New phone number!

Es ist soweit… gerade als wir in den T-Mobile Laden spazierten musste ich feststellen: Swisscom hat mich abgeschnitten! Nun gut, deshalb waren wir ja hier – um mir eine US SIM Karte zu besorgen.

Und dank der von Swisscom im April oder so lancierten SIM Lock Aufhebung hat das auch wunderbar funktioniert. Ab sofort bin ich also unter neuer US Mobile Nummer erreichbar (wird per eMail versandt).

Aber am guenstigsten weiterhin via Skype, WhatsApp, eMail etc.

(Grossartig: Diese Nachricht zu schreiben hat mich nur etwa 20 Minuten und 87 Tippfehler gekostet… waehrend Greg freundlicherweise meinen Laptop von einer verlorenen Datei befreit – wie das geht? Keine Ahnung, darum hab’ ich’s ja auch nicht selbst hingekriegt – tippe ich auf seinem Laptop rum… ja genau, mit der Amerikanischen Tastatur… “z” und “y” Verwechslungen habe ich mir schon laengst abgewoehnt, doch die ganzen Gedankenstriche, Klammern, Fragezeichen nebst den ausgeschriebenen Umlauten ohne Wutanfall richtig hinzukriegen – das ist schon eine ziemliche Leistung 😉

The time has come… just as we strolled into the T-Mobile shop I had to discover that Swisscom had cut me off it’s net! Well, that’s why we’re here, right – to get me my very own US SIM card.

And thanks to Swisscom’s SIM lock suspension in April or so this year, all worked out just fine. As of now I’m therefore reachable under my new US mobile number (will be announced by email, don’t want the whole world to know it…).

Most favorable though is still Skype, WhatsApp, Viber, email etc.

(Great: Writing this message only cost me like 20 minutes and 87 typos… while Greg is ridding my laptop from a lost file – how that works? No idea, that’s why I couldn’t handle it myself – I’m typing around on his machine… yep, exactly, with American keyboard… I’ve gotten used to the “z” and “y” mix-ups a long time, so at least that’s not a problem. But that still leaves you with all the dashes, brackets, question marks and on top of all that the written out umlauts… to handle all this without breaking into a tantrum – that’s quite an achievement 😉

Settling in and become acclimatized

Inzwischen ist es Donnerstag, der 26. September 2013, und ich bin schon meinen zweiten Tag offiziell im Land der sicherlich fast unbegrenzten Möglichkeiten.

Die Katzen gewöhnen sich langsam ein… Mann, können die pennen… Mehr als ich. Aber natürlich erkunden sie auch die Umgebung, schnüffeln die neuen Gerüche ein, gucken kräftig aus dem Fenster und versuchen, ein Gefühl für die neue Umgebung und deren Anordnung zu bekommen. Schon wieder eine Wohnung mit Rundlauf und schon wieder Fenster, die einem zeigen, was draussen alles Spannendes los wäre: Eichhörnchen und Lizards, die frech am Balkon vorbei huschen, Blätter die sich fröhlich im Wind bewegen und Hunde, die Gassi geführt werden.

Und auch sonst gibt’s noch die eine oder andere Parallele:

It’s Thursday, September 26, 2013 in the meanwhile and I’m already spending my second day in the land of surely almost unlimited possibilities.

The cats are slowly getting accustomed to their surroundings… Man, they can sleep… More than I even. But of course they also investigate their environment, sniffing the new odors, peering out the window and trying to get a feel for the new surroundings and how everything is ordered. Once again they’re home in an apartment with a circular layout and once again there are windows that show them what exciting stuff is going on outside: squirrels and lizards, that scurry across the patio cheekily, leaves that move around merrily in the wind and dogs being walked.

And then there’s the occasional other parallel:
